March 16th, 2010

With over half a dozen lovely golf courses to choose from, The Lake Como Golf area is a golfers haven. But what to do if traveling with non-golfers? Parco San Marco, a Spa Hotel in Italy provides something for everyone. With over seven acres of park like grounds, beautiful beaches on Lake Lugano, indoor and outdoor pools, a luxury spa and minors club, non-golfers of all ages will have plenty of opportunities for rest and recreation.

Italian Spa Hotel

Some could easy well spend a week at Parco San Marco, not leave the grounds and have a perfect Lake Lugano Vacation. Labeling it a Spa Hotel in Italy really doesnt capture all it has to provide. Next to the beach on Lake Lugano, there is a recreation pool with a waterslide, a relaxing outdoor pool and an indoor pool and sauna. There is an awesome variety of sport opportunities offered- boating and water sports tennis, badminton, archery, beach volleyball, a fitness club, climbing wall, bocce ball, ping pong and chess. You will need a spa treatment just to recover from it all.

There are some restaurants and bars on the grounds. Breakfast at the Ristorante and Bistro San Marco starts your morning off with an elaborate spread. A separate table at kid height is also set up. Each table gives the day’s schedule for your Lake Lugano Vacation- tours, weather and featured activities and events. And do not forget Lake Como Golf. There are nearly a dozen courses to choose from, including Magliaso. The Magliasino River winds through this brilliant golf course, and you have to play across in seven places. For a challenge, try the Golf Club Villa D’Este one of the most tough par 69 courses in Europe.

The food at Parco San Marco gets rave reviews. But if you want a change of pace, Porlezza, a splendid medieval town about 10 minutes away, has many bars and restaurants. For a bigger adventure, Lugano, a grander, more cosmopolitan city in Switzerland, is about thirty minutes away. A bus for Lugano exits regularly from Parco San Marco.

You could easily spend a week at Parco San Marco, never leave the grounds and have a perfect Lake Lugano Vacation. Identifying it as a Spa Resort in Italy really doesnt capture all it has to give. When coupled with the impressive natural beauty of the lake and the mountains, and the welcoming atmosphere of the surrounding towns, Parco San Marco is a destination that is sure to please.
