Caribbean Stress-buster
August 19th, 2009
Life in the world of IT services with looming deadlines and unexpected bugs can be pretty stressful. After six weeks of working round-the-clock to complete a project, we were all ready for a break under the warm tropical sun. We flew to Grand Cayman on Friday night and reached the luxury Sunshine Suites Resort just in time to see the glorious sunset from the beach. We chose the Sunshine Suites Resort because it was on the beach and it had a wide selection of amenities to please the members of our team.
It was a pleasure to wake up in the pastel-colored bedroom of my suite with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafting in from the kitchen. We started the day with a free continental breakfast by the pool .The pool, the gardens, and the grounds around the hotel had a clean, fresh look that was very inviting. The wide selection of amenities included a variety of water sports and facilities for fishing trips and boat rides. As an added convenience for a couple of our team mates who are fitness freaks, there was unlimited use of the World Gym facilities at no extra charge. What we loved most amidst the wide selection of amenities was the hotel’s service of providing beach towels and beach chairs when we needed them on the beach.
There may be larger resorts in Grand Cayman with a wide selection of amenities that may be different or better than the ones at Sunshine Suites, but none of them have the Sunshine Grill. The Island Fish Tacos and the scrumptious cheeseburgers at this restaurant draw visitors and locals in equal numbers. Considering the volume of work we had done, I think we were as much entitled to their rum drink ” Painkiller ” as the sailors on the ships of the Royal Navy, the original consumers of the drink.
